Jan Willem Hofmeyer, more than eighty years of age, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Jacobs at Boyden, on April 14, at the age of 80 years and seven months. On March 9, his wife, Janna (Derksen) Hofmeyer died at the age of 80 years and ten months.

Mr. Hofmeyer was an Orange City resident but had gone to Boyden to visit his daughter for a time. He took sick with pneumonia.

They came to America 45 years ago and were well known here. They leave three children, namely Mrs. Herman (Jennie) Jacobs of Boyden; Mr. John W. Hofmeyer, Jr. of Orange City; and Mrs. Rieka Johanna Slickers of Grundy Center. The couple were married 57 years.

Funeral services for Mr. Hofmeyer were held on Saturday. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, Iowa.
