Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
at St. Joseph's cathedral in Sioux Falls for Mrs. Emmett Rogers 70, who died suddenly Friday morning at a Sioux Falls hospital of a heart attack. She had spent the past several months with a daughter in New York and had just returned home last week. Mattie Pickett was born July 10, 1889 in Hutchison Kans. She moved to Doon in 1900. She was married to Emmett Rogers at Alvord in January 1910. In 1919 the couple moved to Trent, S. D. and came back to Doon in 1938. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1958.

Survivors include the widower, two daughters, Mrs. R. J. Nemmers of Huntington, N. Y. Mrs. C. P. Schillinger of Billings, Mont., one son Sy of Sioux Falls, 11 grandchildren, and two brothers, Edward Pickett of Los Angeles and C. L. Pickett of Elk River, Minn.
