From the Rock Valley Bee, September 21, 1923:

MRS. JOHANNA RYNDERS

Mrs. Johanna Rynders, wife of John Rynders, residing near Lebanon, died Saturday [Sept. 15] from pneumonia. She had not been well for some time when she was taken sick with pneumonia, from which she could not recover. The Rynders family reside near Lebanon on a farm where they have lived for the past three or four years.

Mrs. Rynders was born in Holland April 14, 1876, and was forty-seven years and five months old when death claimed her. She leaves her husband and a large family of children, who have the sympathy of neighbors and friends in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held at Lebanon Monday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery at Lebanon.

From the Alton Democrat, September 22, 1923, Rock Valley news:

Mrs. John Rynders, living south of town, was here taking treatment for some physical ailment when pneumonia developed and last Saturday she died. She had attained the age of 47 years, was the mother of fourteen children. She was [a] devout member of the Christian Ref. church at Lebanon. Her funeral took place Monday afternoon at the Lebanon church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Steigenga. The many friends of the bereaved family extend sympathy.
