Mrs. Bernard Hoefer, 56, passed on at her home early Tuesday morning t 12:15, July 24th, and the community mourns the passing from this scene of another good woman devoted to her family, a kind neighbor and friend. She had undergone two operations and gradually failed after the last one in April, but had not been confined to bed.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Church Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M., Monsignor Reising officiated. Pallbearers will be William Bindner, Leonard Konz, Merlin Niichel, Tony Pottebaum, Ed Recker, Bob Kellen. Rosary will be recited at the home this Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Hoefer, nee Helen Frerichs was born in the Le Mars vicinity February 23, 1906. She was married at Alton February 25, 1930 to Bernard Hoefer and the couple made their home on the farm northeast of Alton.

Survivors include her husband and one daughter, Betty, Mrs. Peter Stoll of Hospers; one grandchild; her mother, Mrs. Lena Frerichs and brother, Charles Frerichs, both of Le Mars.
