Mrs. Engellina (Muller) Hoefakker passed away last Saturday, June 20, 1925, at the home of her son, Henry Hoefakker, southwest of Rock Valley,following an illness of a few weeks with pneumonia.

The subject of this sketch was born in Holland, February 15, 1854, and had attained the age of seventy-one years, four months and five days.

Her early life was spent in her native land where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Rijer Hoefakker, May 6, 1886. Soon after their marriage, they came to his country. For many years they lived on a farm southwest of Rock Valley. They later moved to town and lived here until Mr. Hoefakker's death, which occurred, May 2, 1924.
A few months later Mrs. Hoefakker went to live with her son where she remained until her death.

Mrs. Hoefakker was a woman, who was highly respected and well thought of by all who knew her. She was kind in her family and will be greatly missed by her children, Henry and Gerrit, who are left to mourn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, conducted by Reverend Colenbrander and the remains were taken to Valley View Cemetery.
