John Levens of Philadelphia dies; rites Friday

John Levens, a former resident of the Rock Valley and Alvord
communities, died of a heart attack Sunday, Feb. 14, at his home in Philadelphia where he had lived for the past 15 years.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's church in Rock Valley and interment will be in Sacred Heart cemetery at Alvord. Rosary will be recited at the Vander Ploeg funeral home Thursday night at 8 O'clock.

Mr, Levens was born at Alvord, Feb 7, 1906. After finishing school he managed Gamble stores, in various parts of Minnesota for several years after which he worked for a wholesale auto supply house in Philadelphia

Survivors include four sisters, Miss Olive Levens of Philadelphia.
Miss Teresa Levens of Dubuque and Mrs. Will Rielly and Mrs, Cloy McKeegan both of Rock Valley and one brother, Lawrence Levens of Philadelphia.

Mr. Levens was preceded in death by a brother, Edward and by an infant sister.
