FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR MISS IRENE HIGGINS, AGE 57

Funeral services for Irene G. Higgins, 57, who died Tuesday in Sacred Heart Hospital at Le Mars were held Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church. Reverend Edward Hoffmann officiated and burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Miss Higgins was born at Rock Valley, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Spain Higgins. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and was a teacher in Wisconsin schools the past 30 years.

She is survived by one brother, Ambrose Higgins of Rock Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Kelly of Bernard and Miss Dorothy Higgins of Mt. Wilson, Md., six nephews and two nieces.

Pallbearers were Robert and Thomas Higgins, Walter McNamera, and James Hevern all of Rock Valley, Robert F. Kelly of Dubuque and Edward F. Kelly of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were D.S. McGinn and William McGinn of Davenport; E. McGinn of Calmar, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Doherty and son, Mrs. Loretta -le and Ethyle Barry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. August Klimek, Mrs. Marjorie Jelen and Miss Theresa Sunieja of Independence, Wisconsin and Mrs. Ed Durband and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cullinan of Le Mars.
