LAST RITES HELD FOR SIP HIBMA---DIES AT HIS HOME MONDAY OCTOBER 13, 1952

Mr. Sip Hibma died at his home early Monday morning of a stroke brought about by a heart condition. He was 71 years of age.

Born at Sexbierum, Netherlands, March 20, 1881, he came to Maurice in 1908. In 1912 he was married to Hendrika W. Romkes and they lived in the Maurice-Alton-Orange City area until retiring from farming in 1944.

Survivors include Mrs. Hibma, and the couple’s seven children. They are: Kathryn at home, William of Orange City, Peter of Maurice, Reverend Ed Hibma, pastor of the Richmond Reformed Church at Grand Rapids, Anna (Mrs. John Schaap) of Maurice, Alida, who is teaching at Grand Rapids, and Gerrit of Holland, Michigan.

Reverend John H. Straks conducted funeral services on Wednesday, at the First Reformed Church.
