Fred Bruening, seventeen years old,, was the victim of a fatal accident a few day ago near his home at Lavewood, Lyon comity, He attempted to slide off of a load of oats ho was hauling and fell between the wheels the heavily loaded wagon passing over his body. He died soon afterwards.

Note: According to a report done by others on ancestry.com; Frederick was the son of Johann Frederick Bruening 1870-1951 and Caroline Gust 1876-1955. He was born 13 Nov 1896 Iowa City, IA, and died 13 Feb 1913 Hull IA. He was one of a large family of children.
