A self-sacrificing and therefore mortal career was terminated on Sunday evening when Mrs. A. Struyk answered the final summons at her home on east Ninth street. Death resulted from gallstones from the severe effects of which she had long been a patient sufferer. The subject of this sketch, who was almost sixty-two years of age at the time of her demise, spent the years of her childhood in The Netherlands. Following the example of millions of her countrymen and women she immigrated, in her youthful days, to the land of the free and the home of the brave, for the laudable purpose of advancing her material condition in life. She was here united in marriage to the husband who several years ago preceded his helpmeet to the spirit world. Six children were born to the union. Rev. Henry Vander Naald, of the local First Reformed church, conducted a brief service at the residence, followed by another at the local house of worship, on Wednesday, after which the remains were taken to Boyden, and there interred beside her life partner. The surviving children, relatives and friends have the heartfelt sympathy of all who claim their acquaintance in this their hour of affliction.

Mr. and Mrs. P. Zwagerman and Miss Rose attended the funeral of Mrs. Struyk at Sheldon on Wednesday. Mrs. Struyk submitted to an operation on Saturday last and passed away on Sunday evening.
