From the Sioux County Index (Hull), December 22, 1922, p. 1:

Alice Groen Dead

The funeral of Miss Alice Groen, who died early Monday morning [December 18], was held Wednesday afternoon.

Alice was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Schol, had lived most of her life in Hull and although being somewhat of an invalid for many years, enjoyed a wide circle of friends. She was thirty-two years of age. Besides her mother and step-father, she is survived by several sisters and a brother.

The funeral was held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and from the Christin Reformed Church at 3:00 'clock p.m. and burial was made in Hope Cemetery. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Wm. Faus and Mr. and Mrs. Case Koele, were over from Sanborn, Tuesday, called here by the death of Miss Alice Groen, a sister of Mrs. Koele.
