From the Rock Valley Bee, December 1, 1922:

LITTLE BOY DROWNS

John Lovering, of Rock Valley, received a message Sunday advising him of the drowning of his grandson, Everet Lovering, seven years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lovering at Worthington, Minn. Two of Mr. John Lovering's sons went to Worthington Sunday night.

The little fellow and his two older brothers were skating, when the oldest boy broke through the ice, and was holding on the edge of the ice to keep from going under while the second boy ran for help. The youngest boy, Everet, tried to help his older brother and broke through the ice and was drowned. Help arrived in time to save the older lad.

All the Lovering family went to Worthington Wednesday to attend the funeral. It is certainly a sad case, and the bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends.
