Sioux County Herald August 5, 1880

It becomes our sad duty to chronicle the death of little Minnie May Wyatt, aged two and a half years, or membranus croup, after an illness of only a few days. Minnie was the oldest child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis C. Wyatt, and was a bright child for her age and beloved by all.
She was brought to Orange City Sunday in order to receive the best of care, but she gradually grew worse, and from Monday evening until Tuesday night about 11 o’clock, when the angel of death claimed her for his own, she was a constant and severe sufferer.
Her place in the affections of her parents, grandpa, uncles and other relatives can never be filled on this earth, but the bereaved parents have all a sympathizing community can offer. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from the Orange House. The youngest and only remaining child, Lee, is lying very low at this writing.

(According to the Sioux County Cemetery Index, Minnie Wyatt was buried at Orange City, IA’s West Lawn Cemetery.)
