John E. "Ed" Buckley, 85, Maurice, died June 7 at a Le Mars hospital after a brief illness. Services were at 10 a.m. June 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Maurice. The Rev. Robert Schimmer officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Mr. Buckley was born Aug. 7, 1890, in Sioux County. He farmed in the Maurice area until his retirement. Mr. Buckley is survived by a brother, Bernard of San Jose, Calif.

Note: Found in the 1900 census that Edward Buckley born about 1890 was the son of Dan C. Buckley 43, and wife Mary 35. Edward was 10, Fred 8, Jenevieve 5, Berndict 3, Robert 2.

In an account on ancestry.com of Fred Buckley born 1892 IA found that his father was Daniel Cornelius Buckley 1854-1938 and his mother was Mary Donovan 1866-1917.
