Sioux County Capital Oct 29, 1942

Mrs. Anna Bergsma, 80 passed away at her home northwest of Orange City at 1 a. m. Sunday after suffering a stroke Thursday morning. She was born in 1862, in Friesland, The Netherlands and was married in 1885 to Anna Bergsma. They came to America in 1909.

Surviving are 4 sons, Charlie of Le Mars, Rink and John of Sibley and Albert at home. Also 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her husband preceded her in death on July 5, 1936. The funeral was held Tuesday at 1:30 in the home with Rev. J. Vlankespoor officiating Interment was made in the local cemetery.

Note: From the marriage record in the Netherlands, she was Froukje the daughter of Rienk Ulbes Zwaga and Akke Tjeerds Van der Ende, married to Anne Bergsma June 12 1885 at Doniawerstal Friesland.
