Joseph Hansen, 60, Alton, died Friday at the Orange City Hospital of a brief illness.

Services were 10 A.M. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alton. The Reverend Cecil Friedmann and the Reverend Mervin Hood officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home at Remsen. The Rosary was said at 3 and 8 P.M. Sunday by the parish in the parish hall.

Mr. Hansen was born April 23, 1917 in Alton. He lived and farmed in the Anton area all his life. He retired and moved to town in 1969. He was a member of St. Mary Parish and the Rosary Society. He married Judith Streff November 24, 1941 at Alton.

Survivors include his widow: four sons, James of Le Mars, Edward of Alton, Walter of Sioux City and Robert of Jackson, Minnesota; two daughters, Miss JoAnn of Sioux City and Miss Carol of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; four brothers, Alfred and Everist, both of Granville, Sylvester and Nicholas, both of Sioux City and Mrs. Leo (Luella) Henrich of Archer.
