Obituary

John Gilman Horn was born in Marion county, March 24, 1858, and died at his home in Boyden, Sunday morning, Dec. 22, 1935, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 28 days. He was married to Mrs. Minnie Harman, September 12, 1882, who preceded him in death, July 29, 1922. He came to Sioux county in the spring of 1890, and located on a farm he purchased near Boyden, where he lived until he moved to town in October, 1903. He is survived by two step-sons, Will and Henry Harman; three brothers: Joseph, of Hull, Luther and Prentis; and three sisters: Mrs. Rebecca Elwood. of Glenwood, Minn.; Mrs. Maggie Sharp, of Spirit Lake; and Mrs. Martha Schafer.

Mr. Horn was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
