Mrs. Linda Andrews, age 69, of Alton, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at her residence.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, February 27, at 1:00pm, at the Demco Community Center in Boyden. Mr. Dean Dykstra and Mr. Cheston Stidolph will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Linda Jean was born on August 21, 1947, in Orange City, the daughter of Gerrit and Dreissa (Ver Beek) Lyzen. She was raised on a farm near Newkirk and graduated from the Floyd Valley High School in Alton. She also attended Westmar College in Le Mars.

On June 14, 1969, she married Ward Harry Andrews in Sioux Center. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota until 1970, when they moved to the farm where she was raised. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Alton Public Library for sixteen years.

Linda made her choice to serve God in her youth, and her faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed cats, family (especially her grandchildren), music, and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years; two daughters and their husbands, Corey and Perry Lanham, of Golden, Colorado, and their children, Haeley, Hunter, and Nicole; and Carmen and John Foster, of Cheney, Washington, and their children, Caelyn, Carlee, and Luke; two sons, Nathan Andrews, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Tyler Andrews and Amanda Fennesey, of Hospers, and their daughter, Willa; a great-granddaughter, Ryker; her step-mother, Alma Lyzen, of Hull; a step-brother, Alan Beyer; two step-nieces, Sara, and her husband, Harlow Vink; and Karla Moothart; two step-grandnephews, Harley Vink and Steve Hennigs; a step-grandniece, Karly Vink; and cousins, Roy and Jane Goodlaxon, Fern and Ben Weeda, and Allan Plesek.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-brother, Karl Beyer; a step-sister-in-law, Maynell “Jill” Beyer; and a cousin, Marlene Plesek.
