Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 2:00 p. m. at the Doon Congregational church for John Carl Edward Nagel who died at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls Saturday forenoon Oct. 12, at the age of 49 years nine months and 13 days.

John Nagel, son of Gottlob and Nancy Nagel, was born on a farm northeast of Doon on Dec 30, 1907. He lived in and around Doon until Sept. 10, 1942 when he was inducted into the armed forces.

Following his discharge he lived at Rock Valley for the past 10 years where he was employed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Henry and Louis.

Survivors include two sisters Mrs. Andrew Brusma of George, and Mrs. William Weber of Doon two brothers, Gottlob and Gustaboth
of Doon.

Kooima Machine Works Inc.was closed Tuesday afternoon so that the employees could attend the funeral services in memory
of Mr. Nagel.
