Jeanette Miedema, 94, Mitchell, died Thursday March 3, 2016 at Leisure Living, Corsica, S.D.
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Mitchell with burial in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell, S.D.

Jeanette was born to Case and Rena (Terpstra) Maliepaard on Feb. 19, 1922 at Inwood, IA. She attended grade school in the Sioux Center area. Jeannette married Henry Miedema on Jan. 31, 1945. She was a farm wife when the family lived at Maurice-Hawarden, IA. In 1959 the family moved to South Dakota. Jeanette was a nurse's aide at the Methodist Hospital for several years. Following that she kept the books for Miedema Sanitation. In her retirement she did volunteer work for the RSVP at the Thrift Store which she loved.

Jeanette is survived by her four children; Jan (Lyle) Bruinsma of Stickney, S.D. John (Pam) Miedema of Mitchell, S.D. Beverly (Darrel) Wolff of Columbia, IL Phil (Kathy) Miedema of Mitchell; One brother, Gary (Delores) Maliepaard of Grand Rapids, MI; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; four sisters-in-law, Henrietta (Doug) Ribbens, Thressa Cleveringa, Dorothy (Leroy) Kleene, Frieda Bierma and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, (June 8, 1985) sisters and brothers in-law Nell Vander Veen, Hattie, Pearl (Eilert) Bloemendaal, Tena (Leonard) De Kruyf, Kay (Chuck) Spoelhof, Trudy (Ken) Split, Ida (Rich) Van Donge, Bill Bierma and Nelson Cleveringa.
