Will A. Finch, 77, who for 56 lived on the farm six miles northwest of Hawarden, died last Saturday. He had been in poor health for some time.

Mr. Finch, one of the 13 children of Irvin and Emma Finch, was born December 4, 1871, at Montour, Tama County, Iowa, where he lived until he was eighteen. He was united with the Presbyterian Church at Montour.

In 1889 he came to Union County and located southwest of Hawarden. He married Anna Behnke January 18, 1893. He was the father of eight children, two of whom preceded him in death, Mrs. Vernon March in April, 1924, and Harvey Finch in August, 1942.

Survivors are his widow: six children, Mrs. Albert Carpenter, Mrs. Charles Cooper and Ray Finch of Hawarden, Julius Finch of Rapid City, South Dakota; Mrs. Orrin Larson of Alcester, and Ralph Finch of Eugene, Oregon; two brothers, Orson and E.R. Finch of Hawarden and one sister, Mrs. Effie Montgomery of Moscow, Idaho; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A grandson, Wilbur March, and a niece of his, Mrs. Leslie Allen, were also reared in the home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Associated Church with Reverend T.A. Mansen in charge.
