ONE OF OLDEST RESIDENTS DIED AT THE AGE OF 97

Funeral services for Mrs. Nora B. Earll, 97, one of Hawarden’s oldest residents, who died at her home Friday, were held at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home, Dr. G.S. Bruland of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was at Eden Cemetery in Hudson. Mrs. Ralph Gregg, Jr., was the soloist with Mrs. Ivoran Noe at the organ. Casket bearers were Arthur H. Anderson, Henry Muller, Elmer Earll, Patrick McGranhan, Michael McGranhan and Tom McGranhan.

Mrs. Earll, the former Nora Black, was born October 4, 1868, at Winona, Minnesota. She married Edward H. Earll January 1, 1890 at Beresford and they farmed in Lincoln County, South Dakota.

Mr. Earll died in 1940 and she remained active until her recent illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Vollink of Le Mars, Mrs. Ida McManaman and Miss Ethel Earll, both of Hawarden; a son, Edward of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
