Eeltje Yager (Jager)

Eeltje Jager, who had been an invalid for the past 30 years, passed away at the Doornink Hospital Monday evening. After suffering for the last few weeks with heart trouble and dropsy, he was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Jager was born in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands, on August 21, 1869. He came to America 53 years ago, settling at Orange City, and has lived in this vicinity ever since. He lived with his mother until the time of her death, whereupon he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Gerben Vander Meer for 12 years. For the past 13 years he has resided at the Gt. Kroeze home.
Preceding him in death were his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Siebe Jager, his brothers, Geert and Siebe Jager, his sisters, Mrs. Wiltje De Jager, Mrs. Bert Nydam, Mrs. Klaas Van Grouw and Elizabeth. The latter two died in the old country.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.at the home of Mrs. Gt. Kroeze, and at 1:30 p.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Bronkema officiating. Interment will be made in the local cemetery.
