From the Rock Valley Bee, May 26, 1922:

MRS. JENNIE VER WEY

Mrs. Jennie Ver Wey died very suddenly at her home in Rock Valley at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon [May 22]. Although she had not been well for about two weeks, she had not been confined to her bed, and was up and around on the day of her death. Monday afternoon she complained of not feeling well as usual, and decided to lie down and rest. She had just lain down when she suddenly passed away. One of her daughters was with her at the time.

Mrs. Ver Wey had lived in Rock Valley and vicinity for about twenty-seven years. She was born in Holland, November 6, 1870, and had attained the age of fifty-one years, five months and sixteen days. She was married in Holland to Dick Ver Wey, who preceded her in death about eleven years ago. Soon after they were married, they came to this country and for several years lived on a farm near Rock Valley, later moving into town.

Funeral services were held in the First Reformed church in Rock Valley Thursday afternoon, and the remains were laid to rest in the Valley View Cemetery. The bereaved children have the sympathy of many friends in their great sorrow.
