Funeral services were held on Monday morning at nine o’clock at St. Anthony’s Church for Mrs. Frank Haag (nee Alice Bear) who passed away at Seattle, Washington on Sunday morning, January 4th after a lingering illness. Reverend J. Thoenissea had charge of the funeral Mass.

The deceased was born at Richmond, Washington County, Iowa on April 29, 1861 and was 80 years, 9 months and 6 days old at the time of her death. On April 29, 1878, she was united in marriage to Frank Haag of Hospers and the young couple started housekeeping on a farm near Hospers. Nine children were born to this union and all survive their mother and are namely Albert of Clearfield, South Dakota, Stella Mrs. F.C. Oldenburg of Seattle, Washington, George of Electric City, Washington, L,E. of Butte, Montana, Helen, Mrs. Meien Giefer of Summer, Washington, Cyril of Ledyard, Iowa, Isabelle, Mrs. Frank Hoefer of Lethridge, Alberta, Canada, Winifred, Mrs. H.T. Hatten of Toledo, Ohio and Jerome of Sioux City. Mr. Haag preceded her in death in the year 1917 after which the deceased moved to Sioux City and later to Seattle, Washington.

Besides her bereaved children she leaves to mourn 45 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren The body arrived here Sunday morning and was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Selig until time for the funeral services on Monday. Interment was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery beside her husband. All the children were present except George of Electric City, Washington and L.E of Butte, Montana.
