Funeral services were held at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City at 10 A.M. April 13 for Mrs. Albert Slothouber, 85, of Orange City, who died at the Orange City Nursing Home April 10. Services were conducted by the Reverend Donald Lenderink and burial will be made in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Slothouber, the former Jeanette Grooters, was born October 17, 1886, to Berend Jans and Jetske (Gertrude) Visser Grooters. She was married February 16, 1916, at Boyden. The couple farmed north of Orange City prior to retiring and moving into Orange City in 1941. Mr. Slothouber died in 1961.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Everett (Annetta) Boone of Sheldon, Mrs. William (Alberta) Langstraat of Boyden, Mrs. Ralph (Genevieve) Mouw of Orange City; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hills of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Albert Kooi of Mt. Vernon, Washington; three brothers, Gerrit Grooters of Ft. Dodge, Ben Grooters of Boyden and Albert Grooters of Orange City.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Mrs. Albert Slothouber, 85, at Trinity Reformed Church at 10:00 A.M. She died Monday, April 10, at the Heritage House after a lingering illness.

Jeanette Grooters was born at Boyden on October 17, 1886 and married Albert Slothouber February 16, 1916.

Survived are three daughters: Mrs. Everett Annetta Boone of Sheldon, Mrs. William Alberta Langstraat of Boyden, Mrs. Ralph Genevieve Mouw of Orange City; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. two sisters - Mrs. Minnie Hills of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Albert Kooi of Mr. Vernon, Washington; Three brothers - Gerrit Grooter of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Ben Grooters of Boyden and Albert Grooters of Orange City.

Reverend Donald Lenderink will officiate at the service. Pallbearers were Wayne Langstraat, Harlan Boone, Ed Harskamp, Ron Zylstra, Edwin Mouw and Roger Langstraat. Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery under the Van Etten Funeral Home.
