Death: September 13, 2006Bernice Caroline Groeneweg was the daughter of Henry Eckhoff and Clara Presuhn Eckhoff. She was married to Christopher Groeneweg on February 15, 1940, in Rock Rapids. They farmed in the Rock Rapids area until 1965 when they moved to Sioux Falls. He was employed by Tabbert Construction and Gage Brothers, later worked as custodian for Sunshine Food Market until retiring in the early 1970s. Chris passed away in 1982.
They were the parents of JoAnn Lang and Walter Groeneweg and her brothers and sisters were Alva Dahlman; Herbert Eckhoff; Norma Eckhoff; Norman Eckhoff and Fred "Freddie" Eckhoff.
She is also survived her grandchildren: Shannon (Bruce) Yarish, Ivory (Tony) Pacheco, September Saine, Matthew & Madison Yarish, Christopher Serrat, Tony Pacheco, Derrick Pacheco & Mary Pacheco, Anastasia, Jaimaca & John, all different last names.
Bernice was buried at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley, Sioux County, Iowa.
