Died: 1957AMOS GREEN DIES AT AGE 73; RITES TO BE SATURDAY
Funeral services for Amos Green,73, a farmer in the Hawarden territory for many years who died Tuesday at the home of a daughter in Fedora, South Dakota, will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday at the Baptist Church in Hawarden.
Reverend Paul Williams will officiate at the church and Dale Lodge, A.F. & A.M., will have charge of Masonic Services at the grave in Grace Hill Cemetery, Masons will meet at the temple at 1 o’clock to attend the services in a group.
Mr. Green, who was born September 11, 1883, at Elk Point, South Dakota, was a 50-year member of the Masonic Order and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Baptist Church. He was the son of William and Rhoda Jane Green. He married Gretchen Tilgner on September 19, 1906.
Survivors include the widow; four children: Fern Helland of Fedora, Dr. B.W. Green of Traverse City, Michigan, Carmen Wingler of Sioux Falls and Rex Green of Hawarden; three sisters: Mrs. Guy Vernard, Ona Green and Minnie Green all of Hawarden; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
