DEATH OF MRS. LUICK BARTON
Passed Away Early This Morning After Lingering Illness.

Mrs. Luick Barton, a resident of Hawarden during the greater part of the past 22 years, died at her home in this city at 5:40 o'clock this morning following a lingering illness. Mrs. Barton submitted to an operation at a hospital in Sioux City last September . She returned home a few weeks after the operation but never fully recovered her health and has been bedfast the greater part of the time since then. She had been very low for several weeks and her death was not unexpected.

Mrs. Barton was born in Yeagertown, Pa., Feb. 8, 1874, and died in Hawarden Aug. 11, 1932, at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 3 days. She came to Hawarden in 1910 and except for brief periods of residence in Marshalltown and Colo, Iowa, Hugo, Colo., and Mitchell, S. D., has made her home here since then. She was united in marriage with Luick Barton at Mitchell on Feb. 25, 1926.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Emerson Ennist of Yeagertown, Pa., and Harry Peters of Hawarden. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Treaster of Yeagertown, Pa., and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Barton had many warm friends and neighbors in Hawarden who will join in extending sincere sympathy to the members of her family. Although definite funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, the service will probably be held at the Ross Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, with Rev. M. N. Skadsheim, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist church, in charge. Interment will be made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Note: She is listed in the Sioux county cemetery index as - Barton, M. Elmira 8 Feb 1874 died 11 Aug 1932 wife Grace Hill cemetery.
