SAD DEATH OF MRS. GRAFF--FUNERAL HELD LAST SATURDAY AT GRANVILLE-- BEEN ILL MONTHS

Mrs. Mary (Kass) Graff passed away at her home at Granville on April 12th after an illness of four months. The funeral was held from St. Joseph’s Church last Saturday morning.

Mrs. Graff was born at Bellevue, Iowa on April 18, 1872. She was married at Remsen to Mr. Nicholas H. Graff on June 16, 1890, going to Granville to live with her husband where they have since lived and where Mr. Graff is president of the Exchange Bank.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Graff left twelve children to mourn her absence as follows: Mrs. M.W. Hughes, Sonora, California, W.F. Graff, South Bend, Indiana; Mrs. F.W. Gilbert, Omaha and at home, Clarence, Edgar, Mary, Rosalina, Blanch, Omer, Mildred, Colleen and Kenneth. Two brothers also survive: Mike Kass of Le Mars and Nicholas Kass of Huran, South Dakota.

The large funeral attests to the esteem in which she was held in the community to which she belonged so long. All of the children were present except Mrs. Hughes. Mrs. Graff thought more of her children comfort than of her own. She took a large interest in social and church affairs besides being a devoted wife and mother who will be very sorely missed in the home.

The Alton Democrat joins with a host of friends extending deepest sympathy.
