Jerome Grady, 71, of Granville, died Friday at a hospital in Orange City of a long illness.

Services were held Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Granville. The Reverend Edward Hoffmann officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mr. Grady was born October 10, 1907 to Ray and Agnes Grady, at Granville. He was a life long area farmer, retiring in 1969.

He married Theresa Beckman January 9, 1939, at Granville. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters of Granville.

Survivors include the widow; six boys, Richard of Hicksville, New York, John of Bigelow, Minnesota, Russell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Harv, Bruce and Brian, all of home; two daughters, Mrs. Brian (Bonnie) Kruse of Granville and Mrs. Dan (Ruth) Steward of Cherokee; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, Leonard of Sioux City, the Reverend Sylvester A. and Ambrose, both of Port Townsend, Washington and Ray of Granville; four sisters, Mrs. Viola Schmitz of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Walt (Susan) Smola of Omaha, Mrs. William (Celeste) Flaherty of Palmer and Mrs. Clara McGuinnes of Seattle, Washington.
