Melanie M. Grady

Melanie Marie Grady, 17, of Alton, died Friday, October 8,1993 at a Sioux City Hospital due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Remsen.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday, October 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alton. The Reverend Ronald J. Reicks officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Melanie was born March 31,1976 at Sheldon, daughter of Patrick and Ruth (Reuter) Grady. She was raised in the Hospers area and was a senior at Spalding High School at Granville. She had been a resident of Alton since moving there with her family in April of 1990.

She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, the Youth Leadership Team, and participated in the Spalding High School Chorus. She was involved in the SEARCH Program and was active in athletics. She was on the Spalding yearbook staff and was active in the Christian Services Program.

Survivors include her parents; a brother, Jeremy at Mount Many College in Yankton,South Dakota; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Reuter of Sheldon, and paternal grandparents Ray and Agnes Grady of Granville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joseph Reuter.

A memorial fund will be established in her name.
