LARGE FUNERAL FOR TED GOERGEN

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, May 17, 1956 at 9:30 for Theodore Goergen, who died from a heart attack Tuesday morning at 1:15 at his home, at the age of 46 years, 4 months, 11 days. Reverend N.J. Becker officiated at the Requiem Mass, assisted by the High School Choir.

Theodore Goergen was born January 4, 1910, son of Frank and Elizabeth Goergen of Granville. He attended St. Joseph School, and since was engaged in farming. On November 28, 1940 he was married to Mathilda Schiltz at St. Mary’s Church, Remsen. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish, Member of the School Board, Chief Ranger of the C.O.F., Director of the Juvenile Foresters, Fourth Degree K of C., Treasurer of the Luxemburger Brotherhood, local K of C member and treasurer of the State Court C.O.F.

Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leo Krause, Lawrence Ney, Pete Gaul, Milo Koob, Jerry Grady, Clarence Kreber, Honorary bearers were Daniel Lechtenbeg, Charles Klein, Tom Grady, James Portz, Ken Full, Joe Gaul, all C.O.F. members.

Surviving are his wife, two sisters and three brothers: Joe, Martin and Paul Goergen all of Granville, (Margaret) Mrs. Leonard Roetzel, (Virginia) Mrs. Robert Harens of Wothington, Minnesota.

Relatives present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. John Schiltz, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Treinen, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Treinen, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Treinen, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Konz and family, Vernon Schiltz, Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Schiltz, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kurth and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pick, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Schiltz, all of Remsen.

Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Holt and Jimmie, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Eischen of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Forkenbrock of Junction City, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Medard George of Meriden, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Means of Marcus, Mrs. Ann Schiltz, Mrs. Fred Arens, Mrs. Alvina Feller, Mrs. Eliz Arens, Mrs. Cecelia Wandercheid of Le Mars, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Konz of Adrian, Minnesota, Margaret Diederich of Dyersville, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jonas, Sr. of Anton and many more relatives and friends from Granville and near by towns.
