Joseph T. Goergen, well known Granville implement dealer, died Sunday evening at 9:15 at his home following an illness of several months.

He was a life-long resident of the Granville community, born in October, 1905 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goergen, on a farm near Granville. He attended St. Joseph School and assisted his parents on the farm, later going into the implement and repair business in Granville.

June 21, 1938 he married Martha Stoffel of Remsen and they became parents of ten children--five sons and five daughters: Mary of Rochester, Minnesota, Francis, Agnes, Dominic, Veronica, Florian, Judy, Aloysius, Gregory and Gertrude, who survive him, together with Mrs. Goergen. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother--Mrs. Margaret Roeizel of Adrin, Minnesota; Virginia, Mrs. Bob Harens of Worthington, Minnesota and Paul Goergen of Granville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Theodore and Martin.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday in charge of Reverend Becker at St, Joseph Catholic Church of which he was a member. He was also an active member of the C.O.F., the Knights of Columbus, Luxembourger Brotherhood, Greater Granville Club and Granville Fire Department.

Pallbearers were J.A. Neuroth, J.P. Gaul, Henry Moos, Edwin Koob, Tony Hunt and Willie Van Bergen.
