Mrs. Peter (Tillie) Zorgdrager

Mrs. Peter Zorgdrager, 67, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Den Hartog, Sunday evening, April 28. She had suffered several strokes. Funeral services were held this week Wednesday at the home and in the Reformed Church of Newkirk, of which she was a member. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery. Rev. R. O. De Groot of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Orange City officiated, and Van Etten’s Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zorgdrager, nee Tillie De Bruyn, was born in the Netherlands and came to America at the age of 14. She was married to Peter Zorgdrager on February 24, 1900. They were the parents of 12 children: Sip of Sumas, Wash., Clara (Mrs. Glenn Hinds) of Monroe, Wis., Andrew of Orange City, Trina (Mrs. William Den Hartog) of Orange City, Marie (Mrs. John Zylstra) of Sumas, Wash., Tillie (Mrs. Henry Martens) of Lake Wilson, Minn., Martha (Mrs. Peter Rensink) of Deming, Wash., and Peter of Sibley. Four children died in infancy.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lena Myers of Cherokee, Mrs. Alee Wynia of Primghar, and Mrs. Harry Pekelder of Sheldon. Two sisters preceded her in death. There are 14 grandchildren.
