Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock in St. Patrick’s Church, Sheldon for Mrs. Leonie Glesener, who died at her home there Sunday afternoon, after an illness of five years at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 13 days.

She was born July 29, 1858 at Steinsel, Luxembourg, the daughter of Pierre and Maria Christianny. She received her schooling in Luxembourg and in 1869 the family came to the United States, settling in Dubuque, Iowa, later homesteading near Hospers, Iowa.

On February 5, 1880 she was married to John Peter Glesener at Le Mars and they made their home on a farm near Granville until 1919, when she moved to Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters and two sons.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Fiebig, and Miss Josephine Glesener, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Interment was made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Sheldon.
