Mrs. Arta Gesink, 78, died Thursday in an Orange City Hospital.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Monday in the First Christian Reformed Church, Orange City, the Reverend Thomas C. VandenHeul did officiate. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City.

Family visitation was Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mrs. Gesink, the former Arta Ter Horst was born on July 18, 1904, near Orange City. On February 24, 1927, she married William Gesink in Orange City. They farmed in the Alton-Maurice areas, moving to Orange City in 1971. Mr. Gesink died January 25, 1979.

She was the member of the First Christian Reformed Church and its Thy Kingdom Come Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Harriet) Vis of Orange City and Mrs. Arend (Clarice) Kraayenbrink of Ireton; two sons, Elwin of Orange City and Glenn of Maurice; five sisters, Miss Minnie Ter Horst, Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Bruxvoort, Mrs. Henry B. (Etta) VanderZwaag, all of Orange City, and Mrs. Jake (Clareen) VandenBerg of Midland Park, New Jersey; one brother, John TerHorst of Bellflower, California; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
