JOE AURIT DEAD

Joe Aurit passed away at his home at Paullina, Iowa, early Saturday morning, after a lingering illness of many months duration.

Mr. Aurit was born at Prairie du Chein [i.e., du Chien], Wis., and was forty-nine years, two months and four days old. In 1878, he came with his parents to Rock Valley, They moved onto a farm near here where he grew to manhood. He was married twenty-two years ago to Miss Luella Frey at Rock Valley. He resided at different places, at Inwood, Ochydan, Sheldon, and for the past three years at Paullina.

He leaves his wife and two children, his father, V. Aurit, of Rock Valley, five brothers, Henry, of Mankato, Minn., John, of Dubuque, Ia., Jerry, Ben, and Cleve, of Rock Valley, and four sisters, Mrs. Kate Schemmer, of Sioux City, Mrs. Elsie Stengel, of Canton, S.D., Mrs. Cora McElroy, Rock Valley, and Mrs. Marie Warren of Spencer, Ia.

Funeral services were held at Paullina Monday. The deceased was a man who was highly esteemed by all who knew him, and the bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends.
