From the Boyden Reporter, October 27, 1921, Matlock Items:

Christopher Tutje, who formerly resided near Matlock, passed away Saturday morning at his daughter's home, Mrs. Oltoff near Breckenridge, Minn. Death came after a few weeks illness due to infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the South Lawn cemetery. Obituary will be given next week.

From the Alton Democrat, November 5, 1921, Matlock News:

Christopher Lutje[sic], formerly one of Matlock's worthy and highly esteemed residents, was born in Petkum, Germany in 1835. He came to America in 1883, residing in Baileyville, Ill. In 1889 he came to Matlock and lived here until 1914 when his beloved wife preceded him to the Great Beyond. Since that time he has made his home with one or the other of his children. He passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. Henry Olthoff at Doran, Minn., on Oct. 22 1921, after a short illness, attaining the age of nearly 87 years. The remains were shipped to Matlock and interment in the Matlock cemetery. Funeral services were held at the home of his nephew J. H. Lutje and at the church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. F. Meyer of George officiated.

He is survived by three children who were present to pay the last tribute of respect to a loving father, namely Evert Lutje of Bigelow Minn., Mrs. Henry Olthoff and Mrs. Simeon Olthoff of Doran, Minn., besides a large concourse of former neighbors and old acquaintances. From far away attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baerenwald, Mr. and Mrs. Reemt Ennenga of Magnolia, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Janssen, Mr. and Mrs. Lonjes De Boer of Little Rock, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Abbe Heikens of Rock Rapids besides numerous friends of George and Sheldon.

The Minnesota Death Certificates Index has Tutje, Christopher, died October 22, 1921 in Wilkin County, Minn. Certificate no. 1921-MN-015446.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Tutje, Christopher, no dates, Greenwood Cem Matlock IA. There is also an Atta Tutje, also no dates, also buried in Greenwood Cemetery.

Agnes Tutje (died 1912, obituary posted separately) seems to have been his wife. Her obit does not give her husband's name, but her survivors are nearly the same: her husband and Mesdames Henry and Simeon Olthoff and Albert Tutje.
