MRS. FUNCK DIES

Grandma Funck one of the most respected old residents of the town of Hull and vicinity, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. E.R. Graham. Following is the obituary as handed to us for publication.

Augusta Wilhelmiene Funck, nee Geuder, was born on the 14th day of November 1840 in Stolp, Pommern Germany. She came to America in 1869 and three months later she married Carsten Funck in Muscatine, Iowa where they lived eleven years. Then in 1881, moved to Sioux County where she has lived ever since Mr. Funck died July 23rd, 1916. One year after his death Mrs. Funck moved to Hull where she has lived since. On September 11th she fell in her home and on September 18 she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Graham in the ambulance. In the fall she hurt her back and on Sunday morning September 21st pneumonia set in and she passed to the great beyond. Mrs. Funck was 33 years, 10 months and 7 days old. She leaves to mourn her loss two children, Mrs. E.R. Graham of this place and Henry Funck of Sheldon, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. One daughter Mary died when 9 years old in 1882. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Geuder residing in Illinois.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was buried beside her husband in the cemetery near by.
