John Bolkema born 1869 died 1948 Hospers IA as listed in the Sioux county headstone cemetery index. His obituary was not readily found in the Sioux County newspapers on line, however there was mention in the papers in 1948 about the estate matters of John Bolkema.

From a report on ancestry.com John Bolkema was born Sept 11, 1868 Opende Groningen Netherlands and died December 30, 1948 Hospers IA. He was married to Bordziena Venema 1865-1946.

Note: According to the marriage record found on www.wiewaswie.nl Jan Bolkema was born 11 Sep 1869 at Grootegast Groningen Neth. To Sjoerd Bolkema and Tetje Harsma . The marriage record states Jan Bolkema 20 years old married Bordsina Venema 25 years old on 5 Apr 1890 at Grootegast.
