Little Bertha, daughter, of Mrs. Boersen, of Sioux Center and formerly of Perkins, was buried in Hope cemetery, near her father, Saturday.

Note: She is listed in the Sioux county cemetery index as Lubertha Boersen born 16 Aug 1915 died 8 March 1917 dau of G. J. and H. buried Hope cemetery Hull IA. Her father was Gerrit Jan Boersen and mother was Hendrikje Hup. She lost her father and a sister in 1916.

Word came to Hull Thursday of the death of little Bertha Boersen only child of Mrs. G. J. Boersen who has been living at Sioux Center. The little girl was about a year and a half old and was sick but a few days. The shock to the mother is more acute in that she lost her husband and another child a short year ago. The loss of her daughter leaves her without any family in this country and makes the case particularly sad. The funeral was held on Saturday and the little one was laid to rest beside her father in Hope cemetery.
