Ramona Alberta Rowenhorst[sic]

Ramona Alberta, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rouwenhorst of Monroe, S.D., passed away last Thursday [July 21] at her home in Monroe, after an illness which lasted about five weeks. The little girl was born on February 19th, 1919[i.e., 1920], and was 1 year, 5 months and 2 days of age. On last Saturday a short service was held at Monroe, with Rev. Roggen officiating, and then the little body was brought to Boyden, where a short funeral service was held at the home of Mrs. K. Rouwenhorst, on Monday morning, with Rev. Haverkamp of Sioux Center officiating. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery in the Rouwenhorst lot. Besides her parents, the little girl leaves a brother to mourn her loss, who is the only other child in the family.

Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. J. Rowenhorst[sic], Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rouwenhorst of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Will Rowenhorst[sic] of Hospers, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beldt of Matlock, Mr. and Mrs. Haverhoef and Mr. and Mrs. H. De Gooyer of Sanborn. The Reporter extends its sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.

Little Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Rouwenhorst Dies at Monroe, S.D.

The little seventeen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Rouwenhorst, of Monroe, S.D., passed away last Friday morning. The little one had not been well for some time but was not considered to be in a serious condition till a few days before the end. Word was received here Thursday of her serious condition and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vanden Brink, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoeven left at once by auto for Monroe with the little brother Sanford. The remains were brought here to the Rouwenhorst home Saturday.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Haverkamp of Sioux Center. Interment was made in Boyden cemetery. Some of those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rouwenhorst, Mrs. John Rouwenhorst, Monroe, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Will Rouwenhorst, Hospers, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beldt, Matlock and the father of Mrs. Al Rouwenhorst from near Milwaukee, Wis.

Siblings Sanford G. Rouwenhorst (1913-1991) and Norbert Rouwenhorst (1922-1978).
