Walter William Forbes passed away January 17, 1917 in Sheldon, O'Brien County, Iowa. William was 82 years of age. He was laid to rest on February 6, 1917 at Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden, Sioux County, Iowa. He was a retired farmer.

Fourth-born son of William John Forbes and Sarah Everetts [aka Everts], Walter married another Oswego Co., New York native, Caroline with whom he had three known daughters: Julia Estella, Georgia and Jessie Forbes. The Forbes family settled in Sioux County, Iowa, in the early 1870s.

After Walter's death, Caroline married second, his younger brother, William John Forbes.
