Funeral services were held at Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home here at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 14, for Ben Eenkhoorn, 69, retired farm worker and a resident of New Homestead here, who died about 5:30 P.M. Sunday, June 11.

He was found dead in his car at New Homestead by a neighbor, William G. Vanden Berg. Death was believed to have been caused by a heart ailment. Doctor L.J. Widfekes was called to the scene and pronounced him dead.

Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Gerrit Regelman, associate pastor of First Reformed Church and burial was in Memory Garden here.

Mr. Eenkhoorn was born in The Netherlands October 30, 1902, and came to the U.S. as a young man, settling in Sioux Center. He had made his home in this vicinity ever since.

Survivors include a brother, Wessel, of Bellflower, California and four sisters: Mrs. Jake Van Hattem of Rock Valley, Mrs. Adolph Nieuwenhuis of Bellflower, California, Mrs. Chas. De Jong and Mrs. Pete Proper, both of Luverne, Minnesota.
