Mrs. William Zalme Dies At Alton

Mrs. William Zalme, 78, of Alton, mother of Fred Zalme of Ireton, died Wednesday, November 28, at the Orange City hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Reformed Church at Alton.

Mrs. Zalme was born in The Netherlands April 6, 1884. She came to the United States in 1906. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. George Lyons (Louisa) of San Luis Obispo Calif., and Mrs. Nick Jilderd (Anna) of Sheldon; seven sons Andrew of Escondido, Calif, Charles of Baltimore, Md., Gerrit of Spokane, Wash., Marinus of Chicago, Fred of Ireton and John and William, Jr., at home; three sisters, and 15 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Gertrude, 1 1/2 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zalme of Baltimore and Andrew Zalme of Escondido and son, A3/c Ronnie of Carswell AFB, Fort Worth Texas, attended the funeral.
