Services will be held Thursday at 1;30 at the Hull First Reformed Church for John Van Sloten, 87, who died Monday at the Sioux Center hospital. The Rev. Paul E. Trompen will officiate.

Mr. Van Sloten was born in 1878 in Nunspet, Netherlands. He married Nellie Van Maanen in 1902. Mr. Van Sloten farmed near Hull, Doon and Rock Valley, retiring to Doon in 1956.

Survivors include the widow; 3 daughters, Coba, Mrs. Ted Boersma of Doon, Henrietta, Mrs. Herm Olivier of Lakewood, CA., Geraldine, Mrs. Edward Klomp of Rock Valley; 4 sons, Gerrit of Doon, John H. of George, Henry of Hawarden, and Wm. of Hull. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving sisters are; Mrs. Henry Van De Sluis, Yakima, WA., Mrs. Frank De Graff, Rock Valley and Mrs. Joe Kuiper, Boyden.
