Emil J. Fisch, 75, of Granville died Unexpectedly Sunday, October 16 in the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were held Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville, Reverend Robert W. Gralapp officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Fisch was born December 23, 1912 in rural Granville to Michael and Margaret (Diederich) Fisch. He attended rural school and also St. Joseph Catholic School in Granville. On September 22, 1948 he married Saverna Ahlers at Granville. He was engaged in farming near Granville and in earlier years also did custom corn shelling.

Mr. Fisch was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles of Le Mars.

Survivors include his wife: a son, David of Granville; two daughters, Roseland Fisch of Sioux City and Annette Fisch of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a sister, Mrs. John (Hilda) Majerus of Sibley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irene Fisch.
