Teunis Henry Klein, 76, Pella died Sunday at the Sioux Center hospital while on a visit to homes of son and daughter, Donald Klein and Mrs. John Smith, Jr. of Rock Valley.

Funeral services for Tunis H. Klein, 76 years old, at the Duven Funeral Home, Pella, Wednesday, Feb. 24. Mr. Klein is widely known in this community, where he and his wife; Jessie, have visited for several summers in the home of their daughter, Mrs. John Smith, Jr. and son, Donald. Mr. Klein died Sunday morning, Feb 21 at the age of 76 years at the Sioux Center Community hospital. He was a life-long resident of Pella and was a graduate of the University of Iowa and of Drake University Law School in 1913 when he was admitted to the bar and the practice of law in Iowa. He practiced law for more than 50 years at Pella, during which time he was a member of the Iowa State Bar association and the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Second Reformed church for many years. Mr. Klein served as Iowa State Senator in the 51st and the 52nd sessions and a Mayor of Pella for nine consecutive years, 1949 through 1958. On December 3rd, 1913, he was married to Jessie M. Forsyeth of Humboldt. The couple has two children, Donald F. and Mrs. John H. (Bonnie) Smith, both of Rock Valley. Mr. Klein is survived by his wife, two children, five grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. James (Luella) Van Dusseldorp and Mrs. Harry N. (Gertrude) Awtry.
