Russell Miller, 68, died Sunday at Vet's Hospital, Rock Valley resident.

Russell Miller was born April 12, 1896 in Johnstown, Penn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Miller. He died Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, following a three week illness. In 1923 he was married to Alice Talsma of Sheldon and seven children were born to the couple. On August 18, 1941, he married Jennie Smit. They were the parents of six children.

Surviving are the widow, Jennie, 11 children and 35 grandchildren. The children are Peter and Harvey of Hawarden; Russell, Jr., Sioux Falls; Helen June of New York; Russell and Donald of Doon; Richard of Primghar; Charles of Perkins Corner, and Kathryn, Elsie and Wayne, at home. . Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Miles (Ruth) Mc Arthur, Sheldon; Mrs. Al (Kathryn)Hudson, Sheldon; Mrs. Paul (Helen) Burns (Unreadable) and Mrs. Bus (Marian) Saunders of Harris.

Mrs. Edward De Haas will be the soloist with Mrs. Roger Smith at the organ. The American Legion members will conduct military services.

He was preceded in death by a son Elmer, Perkins Corner, and an infant son, James, four brothers and by his parents.
